The Chevreul Institute is pleased to announce its participation in Season 6 of Xperium, the scientific and educational event organized by the University of Lille and the Lilliad Learning Center Innovation, centered around the theme “Our Worlds in Transition(s)”.

This event offers the general public the opportunity to discover concrete scientific innovations and to meet the researchers and doctoral students behind these projects.

Two Key Exhibits, Two Challenges for Tomorrow

– The Plastics of Tomorrow from Plants

Set up by Fanny Bonnet, Philippe Zinck, Jordan Beauvois, Nissrin Kanso, Florine Belliot-Nonque and supported by the laboratories UMET (Materials and Transformations Unit) and UCCS (Catalysis and Solid-State Chemistry Unit), this exhibit explores the possibilities offered by bio-based polylactide (PLA).

The goal is to develop materials with enhanced performance while reducing their environmental impact, offering a sustainable vision for the plastics of tomorrow.

– More Energy, Fewer Batteries

Designed by Sophie Barrau, Frederic Giraud, and François Rault in collaboration with the laboratories L2EP (Electrotechnics and Power Electronics Laboratory of Lille), UMET, and Gemtex (Textile Engineering and Materials), this exhibit focuses on harvesting ambient energy (vibrations, electromagnetic fluxes…) to power connected devices without disposable batteries.

This innovative approach paves the way for more autonomous and sustainable solutions for the technologies of tomorrow.

Come Explore These Growing Fields

Join us at LILLIAD, Villeneuve-d’Ascq, to explore these exhibits and engage directly with our researchers and doctoral students.
