Platforms
The UAR oversees the PCA and PTICM platforms. These two platforms are tasked with meeting the research and innovation needs of the supported research units (and beyond, including private partners). The platforms (and their divisions) also have a training mission for PhD students (initial training) and users (FTLV-type training).
Advanced Characterization Platform (PCA)
The Advanced Characterization Platform (PCA) brings together state-of-the-art equipment and expertise for the structural and chemical analysis of molecules and condensed matter. It is open to the entire academic community as well as to companies. The platform consists of 10 divisions and involves 37 staff members (≈ 26 FTEs):
- Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
- Magnetism and Electron Magnetic Resonance (MRME)
- Electron Microscopy (PMEL)
- X-ray Diffraction and Scattering (D2RX)
- Surface Analysis
- Vibrational Spectroscopy
- Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry (ICP)
- Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC)
- Ultrafast Spectroscopy
- Mass Spectrometry

Technological Engineering Platform for Chemistry and Materials (PTICM)
The Technological Engineering Platform for Chemistry and Materials (PTICM) brings together, develops, and operates technological tools for targeted applications (e.g., high-throughput catalysis, polymer recycling, etc.), with a focus on developing partnership activities. The platform consists of 7 divisions and involves 28 staff members (≈ 12 FTEs):
- REALCAT: High-Throughput Catalytic Screening
- UPCAT: Up-Scaling of Catalytic Materials
- PPTS: Powder Processes and Technologies
- HT-SMARTFORMU: High-Throughput Formulations
- FIRE RESIST: Material Reactions and Fire Resistance
- POLYREC: Optimized Processes for Polymer Recycling
- PACTE: Chemical Synthesis, Analysis, and Characterization
