The Facility Dedicated to Radionuclide Has Opened Its Doors

A visit to the D2 facility, the expertise center of the Chevreul Institute dedicated to radionuclide handling, took place on Friday, April 25, 2025.

The aim of this event was to showcase the platform's activities and research topics, as well as to demystify practices related to uranium and thorium chemistry. Guillaume Chon, Assistant Engineer and Radiation Protection Advisor for the platform, welcomed dozens of visitors, all of whom work in nearby laboratories.

He began each presentation with an explanation of the risks associated with radioactivity. During the tour, Guillaume presented the various instruments, always emphasizing the importance of this research. He also highlighted the protocols in place for materials management and radiation protection.
