4 Laboratories

logo_UCCSThe research performed within the UCCS is focused on two main fields: Energy and Sustainable Development. The laboratory is organized along three departments: (i) heterogeneous catalysis; (ii) catalysis and molecular chemistry, and (iii) solid chemistry. The research activities, based on fundamental and applied approaches, include catalytic biomass conversion, fine chemicals, plant-based chemistry, pollution abatement, alternative fuels, nuclear fuels and wastes, fuel cells and eco-compatible materials.

logo_UMETThe UMET laboratory is specialized in the elaboration, transformation and characterization of advanced materials. Its fields of study include materials for mechanical use, therapeutic materials, biocompatible materials, surface treatment and functionalization, behavior under irradiation, dehydration and grinding, fire behavior, ultra-light ceramic coatings, up to the understanding of the behavior of minerals in the earth's mantle or those from extraterrestrial environments.
